The Last 8 Months - The House

Did I mention we're building a house on the half acre behind my parents?  Here's a time lapse (assuming you scroll down accordingly) from February to about a week ago.  We've been told that it will be done in mid-August so we're hopeful that it'll be ready by Labor Day.

The Last 8 Months - Many Faces

Nobody loves selfies more than my kids. So, for a bonus blog...here's some of the random finds from my phone.

The Last 8 Months - Sunriver

Since we're building a house and all, we opted to not do any big trips this summer but instead a long weekend at Sunriver.  We may have found the one weekend in Bend that was a little cloudy and rainy but we did our best to not let it slow us down.

First up was a trip to the Lava Caves, where outside weather doesn't matter.
Midway through the cave - it was dark but very cool.  It's quite an adventure trekking through a cave.
This is the end of the line.  I can't help but wonder what is past that sign though...
We saw a lot of deer in and around Sunriver.  This lady wasn't too scared of us.
The next day we hit up the High Desert Museum, starting with a dab at the entrance.
Who doesn't want to pose next to a Model A.
My kids have never met a wingspan test they didn't want to take.
I don't know if she's much longer than she was at the wingspan in Vancouver...
Ladies and gentlemen, your local weather kids.
And here's how they look on TV.
A 1940s living room.  I couldn't help but wonder if my grandparents' living room was like this back in the day.
After the museum, we went on a family horse ride!  Previously, the only horse riding the kids have done was just around the pen at Black Butte a few years ago.  This was on a trail with a guide so much better!
Siena riding Atta Boy and Mason riding Felix.
My horse Mo and I got along quite well.
The family on our horses by the Deschutes River.  I think this ride was the highlight of our weekend.  And look - blue sky even came out!!!
The kids at dinner isn't really a big deal but what you can't see in the background is the golf course.  On a whim, we decided to see if we could hit a few balls on the driving range after dinner.  Turns out the kids really enjoyed it and they are actually starting golf lessons tomorrow!
On the last day, the sun came out yet again!  We rented bikes in the morning and went around the resort bike paths.  Then we had to get the kids one last trip to the pool before heading home.
Oh yeah...

Great family trip!
