When I started this blog, it was to share our goings on with others. Over the last few years, we got busy as the kids got older and I got lazy about updating the blog. The kids have made me realize though that this blog isn't so much for those outside our family but really is our family photo album. As such, we need a little update. Here ya go Mason and Siena!!!
Note that I'm skipping the Hawaii and Puerto Rico/Dominican Republic trips since Mason has those covered!
2018
For the last few years, Mason has opted for family trips or outings to celebrate his birthday rather than a party. For his 14th birthday, we went up to Lost Lake for some hiking.
The views were incredible!
And of course we had to do some celebrating at Red Robin and the free birthday sundaes.
Mason was in Advanced Choir in 8th grade and therefore got to wear the robes!
Catching as many Portland Thorns games as we possibly can!
The boy did track for the first time starting in 8th grade. Definitely a sprinter in the making...complete with man bun.
Go Mason go!!
With little sister in beginning choir at Alder Creek, both kids got to perform in the annual spring concert at Putnam together.
Siena and team made it to the round of 8 for the third year in a row at the Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB).
A little love for daddy.
The boy and I doing our favorite summertime activity.
My slime lover attending her first (and so far only) slime convention.
Summer go karting with Papa Ron!
Slime. So much slime.
No idea what's happening here but yeah.

Baskin Robbins.
Me competing in Hood to Coast Washington, bringing our team home during the last leg. My achilles was never the same again after this run...
Run K run!
Spent a week in the summer with Yaya and Papa Ron at Eagle Creek. Us chillin' at the rental house.
Had a super fun day at Lake Billy Chinook and a rented jet boat. Even Papa Ron got in on the action.
Siena liked swimming more than the boat.
The world's hottest hike up to the top of Smith Rock. Beautiful views, not quite enough water.
Rocking the hats...
My favorite kids in Sisters.
Some mini golf action.
Mmhmm
Family bike ride!
Luis and Siena at Siena's dance recital at Oak's Park.
I took a random day off in the summer and took the kids to the beach. Kite fun.
Da boy
Always use your sunscreen kids.
We set up an inflatable pool in the yard. Got a few days use out of it before it died.
Siena going hard versus the other North Clackamas soccer club.
Enjoyed a fun evening with family friends Barb and Keith, their daughter Gena, and family. My parents and Barb and Keith have been friends for over 50 years.
My kids and Gena's kids, lined up in age order with Mason being the oldest. Clearly they have more height going for them than my kids do!
Apparently 2 kids can go on the big swing at the same time.
Siena being Siena.
Mason the soccer ref.
Our Thorns made it to the NWSL Championship final in 2018 which was being played in Portland of all places. Heck yeah we were there!
The boy and I cheering on the team.
Our team didn't win on this day but it was great to be there cheering them on.
Mason, Luis, and I had the opportunity to meet several Thorns players. Here's Mason and I with US National Team star Lindsay Horan.
Oaks Park-ing for Luis's work picnic.
The classic Scrambler.
First day of school...Freshman year for Mason. 7th grade for Siena.
Summer hike with the boy.
Joanne and Doug took us out on their boat for some skiing/wakeboarding fun. I couldn't quite get up on the wakeboard but did get to ski again!
Mason rocked the wakeboard though!!
Awww, they like each other!
I went to New York for a conference and got surprised one day with several inches of snow! Out of desperation had to invest in a Brooklyn Net's cap.
I think Siena liked her birthday gift from Mason...
Yep, she did. Too bad I can't remember what it was.
The birthday buddies celebrating another year.
Mason playing his first year of high school soccer.

A long run doesn't count if you don't take a selfie.

And Siena got the game she really wanted!

Luis and Mason.
Happy girl!
The hair.
Dune buggy tour in Florence...soooo fun!
We dog sat several times for miss Saiorse.
Siena being goofy. She got the cap from a friend of hers at Kartini Clinic. As challenging as the 6 weeks at Kartini were, it turned out to be a great experience for Siena and we're finally feeling back on track.
Matthew and Mason before the Winter Formal. Unfortunately, they didn't last too long at the dance since Mason got caught for going without a ticket. Oh well...lesson learned.
Typical Siena.
With Christmas gifts from Deb and Lucinda.
Siena snuggling with our adoptive dog Saiorse.
Got all the kids out on the wave runner one day!
Course Mason and I got it out multiple times.
Mason got his learner's permit a day or two after his birthday.
Showing off his permit
Me with all my gym buddies at our friend Sai's wedding reception.
Also at Sai's reception. The kids came to this party after getting to know Sai at various karaoke parties.
Mason did track again Freshman year and discovered he was pretty good at the 400.
Run Mason, Run!!
A little summer fun at Joanne's pool and Shelley's baby Addison.
Went to the beach for a day over the summer to enjoy the sun!
Mason found some rocks he could climb.

Siena had to take a sports break this year and discovered theater! Girl has a definite knack for the stage.
Annual fall kumla was at Joanne's house. Here's the whole (biological) family along with cousins Larry and David Bullock.
