Greetings from North Dakota!

Although to start, we're still in SD. The next stop on our trip was Boondocks and Deadwood. Boondocks is like an old 1950's town with lots of old cars. Mason and Papa Ron loved it.
Lots of cool vintage stuff.
Then on to Deadwood. This is mainstreet, outside Bullock's restaurant where we had lunch. Seth Bullock was an original Deadwood resident.
Shortly after lunch, our sunshine turned to very very big hail. We don't get this in Oregon.
Here's the most famous Deadwood resident - Wild Bill Hickok. Rather, here's is grave.
Celebrity saloon in Deadwood - home to Herbie! This is one of the actual Herbie's used in the movie, complete with a steering wheel in the backseat for the scenes where Herbie is driving himself.
Luis found a Paul McCartney guitar.
I found a Sheryl Crow guitar.
Forrest Gump.
The kids on a wagon outside the visitor center.
After Deadwood, we went to Bear Country U.S.A. Bear Country is one of the places where you drive through and see the animals somewhat wild. Most of the kids were scared of this particular bear. Notice that Ellia is in tears for this picture.
Luis and the racoons!
These baby bear cubs were worth the price of admission.
Happy travelers!
I attempted this artsy bison picture. He fooled me though. Look closely, you'll see he's peeing.
Next day - driving from Rapid City to Bismark, ND. Exciting road, isn't it. No need for a steering wheel.
Buffalo or Bison? Bison or Buffalo? Is there a difference?
Group photo at the North Dakota state line.
Ellia lost her first tooth at lunch.
Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota. This park is beautiful! And Teddy is my favorite president so it's really a can't lose. Yes, the entire park was this amazing.
Just look at the view here where we got out to walk.
More bison. There were quite a few of them in the park. A couple of them came right up next to our van. These guys are HUGE!
We're taking it easy this morning. Our hotel in Bismark has an indoor pool and water slides so we spent the morning playing there. It was nice to have a break from the car and hustling bustling.
