Anyway, for Father's Day, we had my parents and the Cruz clan over to our place for lunch. Mason showed his cousin Andre how to properly drive the '55 Chevy.
Tia Sara got lucky in getting the 2 girls on her lap at the same time...cousin's Kendra and Siena. Note of course the lovely new lawn that Luis mowed and fertilized. We're not talking about the unsold/unfinished house in the background...
Mom, Dad, and I went to visit Grandpa Art at his new digs to wish him a happy Father's Day. Its only a couple miles from our house but is a big more for him. It's a every nice place and he seemed to be doing well.
Mason and Siena gave "Papa Ron" his father's day card and supervised its reading.
Saturday night we had dinner at our long-time family friends the Walkers. Joining us were Gena and Jon and the Morris boys' - Kaden and Ryder. Kaden is 3 months younger than Mason and Ryder is 2 months younger than Siena so it's a lot of fun seeing kids the same age playing together.
This is the "grown-ups" trying to relax after chasing the kids around the yard.
The boys - from left Kaden, Mason, and Ryder. Kaden and Mason worked very hard to move the dirt on the little mountain in the Walker's yard. Unfortunately it wasn't quite to where Keith had intended it to go but it was good effort nonetheless.
Kaden and Mason enjoying their dessert...
The Morris' brought their "Slip-N-Slide" for a little wet entertainment. This is Kaden trying to show the kids how it's done. Note that Mason wanted none of this water nonesense.
Siena, on the other hand, never met water she didn't like. Unfortunately we didn't have a swimsuit on hand for her but that didn't slow her down. For the sake of maintaining the PG rating on this blog, I've submitted this "safe" picture of Siena partaking in the Slip-N-Slide action.
Here's Gena and Ryder. The kids are always shy around each other at first. By the end of the night they're best friends.

Mason had 2 soccer games this weekend and did great. The little guy never stops running, even though he doesn't actually catch up to the ball very often. He had a couple great kickoffs though, unlike another little boy who ran for the kick-off, tripped on the turf and flew over the top of the ball. That's good fodder for America's Funniest Home Videos. Its hilarious to watch these games...there's laughter, tears, and complete whiffs at the ball...
Mason has his "spot" at the kickoff circle. He's often there a good 2 minutes before the rest of his teammates. Wants to make sure he doesn't lose his spot and all...

I remember those days!!! Your social life becomes potluck dinners with other parents or family. We found good wine helps!
What's with Mentor's hostile takeover news? Joanne
